My name is Ken Howell and I am the proud principal of Morristown Jr./Sr. High School. This will be my 3rd year at Morristown, and awesome things continue to happen at our school every day. I feel it is always a great day to be a Yellow Jacket!
Last year we began our 1:1 technology initiative at Morristown Jr./Sr. High School. I felt we had a very positive and successful experience with this last school year. I am excited about the opportunity to integrate even more technology into the learning process this year. I am looking forward to working with the students, parents, and teachers as we explore the limitless possibilities that 1:1 technology provides us. Likewise, I am equally excited about again having the opportunity to work with our students, parents, staff, and community members as we continue to provide a safe and nurturing environment, where all of our students can experience success. I am confident that by working together as a team, the students and school will experience even greater success in the upcoming school year.
Besides the continued integration of our 1:1 technology, we have some other exciting changes for this school year. We are planning on adding some Dual Credit classes in the area of Math, Science, and Spanish. Our 8th grade students will have the opportunity to earn a high school credit in the area of Spanish, Agriculture, or Art. We offered Driver’s Education this past summer and hope to offer an additional session during the school year. Finally, we are in the process of adding a Computer Programming class for the first time. I feel that these are all positive additions for our students and school.
As I mentioned above, great things are happening at Morristown Jr./Sr. High School. I welcome all the parents and community members to visit the school and get involved. I hope to see all of you at the school sometime this year.
Go Yellow Jackets!
